Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Ice Skating Harriet - North Coast Creations

Hi there!

Today I have a stamp from North Coast Creations called Ice Skating Harriet.  NCC is a new stamp company from the Our Daily Bread Designs' owner Kelley.  Their website should be up and running sometime in August, but if you would like to purchase this little cutie you can contact Kelley at ODBD.

Here is my creation using Harriet...

As soon as I saw this image, I thought of pinks and greens and I had the perfect paper for it, Eskimo Kisses by Basic Grey.  I only had scraps left from, so I had to work around using only small pieces.  The little ornament shape on the bow is a leftover from Christmas cards last year.

For all ingredients used:

Stamps: Ice Skating Harriet (North Coast Creations)

Paper: Solar White (Neenah), Eskimo Kisses (Basic Grey), Yultide (K&Co), Pink Pirouette (SU)

Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine)

Accessories: Bow-Easy, White Seam Binding, Sweet Heart Twine (Really Reasonable Ribbon), Labels 23 (Spellbinders), adhesive pearls (Want-2-Scrap), mineral spirits, Snowflakes #8 Embossing Folder (Sizzix), Joys of the Season Cartridge (Cricut), Prismacolor Pencils

Blessings!

Heartfelt Creations - Ornamental Raspberries

Happy Wednesday!

Today I have another card using the new Heartfelt Creations July Release Classic Editions Collection.

This image is from the Ornamental Raspberries Set.  It has this raspberry image, the single raspberry I used here with a pop dot, and a beautiful raspberry and flower flourish.  The background paper I used is from the new Classic Editions Paper Collection.  I used one of the olive green sheets and stamped it with the raspberry and flower flourish to create a pretty background.  The black ink looks beautiful on the olive paper.

You can see all the Designer's creations on the HC Blog, they're all so gorgeous!  There's even a couple from Mary Lou and Linda the owners of HC.  Emma Lou also has a fantastic video on the Blog showing you all the stamp sets, custom die, and all the designer papers in the collection.

Blessings!

Kathy

Now for my take on the sketch challenge this week...

I decided to make a Christmas card using Holiday Ornaments Stamp Set and Holiday Tags Shapeabilities Dies.  The ornament is detachable and the recepient can hang it on their tree!  Here's a couple of more pictures, one closeup...

and the other showing it detached.

To make the ornament, I die cut a piece of recycled packaging and another piece of desginer paper (the striped one) and glued them together with the image die cut.  Then I just added some gold string I got from the flower section at Michaels, a little bell, a bow, and a pearl.
The Sentiment is three different die cuts glued together.  I stamped each one with the sentiment and then couldn't decide which one to use, soooo I used all three!  The bird is a project "leftover" from last year that I decided to include.  I love being able to used up those "leftovers" I keep on hand!

For all ingredients used:

Stamps: Holiday Ornaments (ODBD)
Paper: Solar White (Neenah), Glad Tidings Designer Paper (K&Co.), Capers, Palo Verde (Bazzills)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), Wheat (VersaMagic), Amaretto (Powder Puffs)
Accessories: Holday Tags, Fancy Tags Shapeabilities (Spellbinders), 2-step Bird Punch (SU), Triad Leaves Embossing Folder (Sizzix), ribbons, velvet trim, 9mm Jingle Bell, gold string (Michaels), adhesive pearls (Want2Scrap), burgundy felt (Jo-Ann's), recycled packaging (cereal box), button (Basic Grey), Bow-Easy, Detailed Clear Embossing Powder (Stampendous), mineral spirits, Prismacolor Pencils: Crimson Red, Tuscan Red, Marine Green, Bronze, Yellow Ochre, Light Umber, Chocolate, Black

    Heartfelt Creations July Release

    Happy Wednesday!

This month we are delighted to release our very first line of Heartfelt Creations paper. Check out the beautiful patterns, luscious colors, and organic textures. Some come with our stamp images in them; others are abstract. This will add some fun and variety to your creations!

The Classic Edition Collection stamp sets and die release is gearing towards the fall season and colder days. A rustic truck, wooden wagon, playful dog, berries, apples, and pumpkins will keep you busy creating as the sun begins disappearing earlier in the evenings. Our card samples will give you many ideas to get your creative juices flowing. Leave a comment on the HC blog by July 24th and you will be eligible to win the entire release.

HC's stamps and matching dies are so awesome, but now having papers to match too!!!  Wow!!  These papers are 12" x 12" so they can be used for scrapbooking or cardmaking.  They are also double-sided and are absolutely GORGEOUS!  What a blessing to be a designer for them, as I get to play with it all!

For my first creation using the Classic Edition Collection, I made a card using the wagon filled with "bounty".  So much fun to color with these images and be able to layer and piece them.

Here's a side view that shows the piecing...you can also right click on the picture to see it better...

Be sure to visit the Heartfelt Creations Blog to see the entire Collection and leave a comment for a chance to win it!  Also, check out all the beautiful creations the designers have made!

    Blessings!

    Hi there!

Time for a new Shining the Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs!

    This week's challenge:
We would like to see clouds or sunshine on your creation. These can be on your designer paper, be cut or sponged or be part of your coloring or stamping.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Sunday, July 22nd at 8 p.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.

If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC116. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.
Now for my take on the Challenge this week...

This cute little chickadee is from an older set called  You Will Find Refuge.  I've always loved chickadees, probably because they're cute like plump babies even when they're adults.  This image has the branch with it and ODBD also has a custom die to cut it out with, the Chickadee Die...I love that!  Here's what the set and die look like to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about.

For the Challange, I decided to do clouds.  I've never done this before so I was a little aprehensive, but I liked the way it came out.  To make them, I taped three 1" circles together and sponged with Ballet Blue Ink above the top of it randomly on white paper.

    For all ingredients used:

Stamps: You Will Find Refuge (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Paper: Solar White (Neenah), Whisper White (Stampin Up), Watercolor Bouquet (K&Co)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), Amaretto (Powder Puffs), Ballet Blue (Stampin Up)
Accessories: Bow-Easy, Golden Maple Silk Ribbon (Really Reasonable Ribbon), sponge, adhesive pearls (Want-2-Scrap), Grand Labels 23, Classic Scalloped Ovals Large (Spellbinders), Chickadee Die (ODBD), Flower (Prima), mineral spirits, Prismacolor Pencils: Violet Blue, Blue Violet Lake, Black, Cool Greys, Eggshell, Cream, Sand, White, Chocolate

For more inspiration, please visit the other members of the Challenge Team and see their beautiful creations!

That's it for today!  Hope this gives you a little inspiration and you're able to join in the challenge this week!

    Being Blessed

    Happy Sunday!

I've been so blessed today by first, 2 of my cards being favorited as Split Coast Stampers!  Swan Princess was favorited by Pat Smethers, a VERY sweet and special lady.  The other was Garden Romance Arbor by ChaosMom.  So wonderful to be recognized for something you love to do!

The second blessing, is a little write-up for one of my cards done on Loves Rubber Stamps Store's Blog called Sunday Shares.  Laura, the owner, shares a couple of creations each week and was kind enough to share one I did last year.  Here is the card I made using Belle N' Whistles Stamps' Planting Some Love by Elisabeth Bell.

You can see the original post I did for this here.  You can see Laura's wonderful write-up on it here.  So very special, Laura was so generous with her words of kindness!  Thank you Laura!

I'm so thankful to be able to do what I ABSOLUTELY love to do and to know others enjoy the things I create.  All the Glory belongs to God who has placed these talents and love and joy in me!  Thank you Lord!

    Blessings!

Things With Wings - Elphine House Australia

    Hi there!

It's time for a new challenge at Elphine House Australia!  This time the challenge is to include anything with wings on your creation!  There's lots of Elisabeth Bell images with wings, so that shouldn't be difficult to do!

All you need to do is create a card or project using any Elisabeth Bell stamp from any company and make sure there's wings!  The winner will be chosen randomly and will recieve 2 stamps from EHA.  You have a whole month to enter the challenge, as we are doing a monthly challenge for the summer.  Here is my take on the challenge...

This is Carrie Swan Princess, isn't she so sweet!  I love this Botanical paper, and decided to color the image to match it...the best I could anyway.  After I was done, I was wishing I had used the Natural White paper for the image instead of the Solar White, but oh well!

    All ingredients used:

Stamps: Carrie Swen Princess (Elphine House Australia)
Paper: Botanical (Prima), Solar White (Neenah), copper color paper (DCWV Stack), Paol Verde (Bazzills)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), Wheat (VersaMagic), Amaretto (Powder Puffs)
Accessories: Diamond Stickles (Ranger), sponge, green Hem Tape (Wrights), Classic Ovals Large, Classic Scalloped Ovals Large, Floral Ovals (Spellbinders), Medium Branch Punch (Martha Stewart), Cream Seam Binding (Really Reasonable Ribbon), adhesive pearls (Want-2-Scrap), adhesive pearls flourish (Recollections), flower (RAK from Sabrina), mineral spirits, Prismacolor Pencils

Hope to see you join in the challenge this month!  The next challenge will be on August 15th!

    Blessings!

I'm a newbie at tearing and distressing, but here's what I came up with...

I used this beautiful Prayer of St. Frances Stamp and stamped it directly on the Almanac Designer Paper.  I kind of like how the word "hatred" is crossed out by the design on the paper and decided to leave it as is instead of redoing it.  I've had the black lace for quite a while and have been waiting for the right project to use it, and this was it!  This lace is so gorgeous!  The bow is made from a little ribbon sample I received from Really Reasonable Ribbon in my order last week.  It's really pretty and has a nice feel to it.  When I made the bow the tails were bent up a little, so I used a mini curling iron I got with my last curling iron purchase.  I think it's meant for bangs, etc., but it worked great on taming and shaping the ribbon!
    Here's all the ingredients used:
Stamps: Prayer of St. Frances (ODBD)
Paper: Almanac Collection (Prima), Black (SU)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), Amaretto (Powder Puffs)
Accessories: Labels 23, Detail Clear Embossing Powder (Stampendous), distressing tool, sponge, ribbon (Really Reasonable Ribbon), adhesive pearls (Recollections), lace & trim (Jo-Ann's), flower charm (Michaels), mini curling iron
For more inspiration, please visit the other ladies' blogs for their gorgeous creations!
    Sherry Kushibab - Guest Designer

I'm also submitting this to the latest Word Art Wednesday Challenge #35 - Blessing From God - Deut. 6:5.
Hope to see you join in the challenge this week!
