Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Kathy

Teal Feathered Daisy - Heartfelt Creations

Happy Wednesday!

I'm back again with another card using the new Peacock Paisley Collection from Heartfelt Creations! This time I used the Feathered Daisy image and added an extra flower over the flower on the image  with the Delightful Daisies Set.

The image and flower are colored with pencils and mineral spirits. I really had fun playing with the greens and blues on this...I just love to color! After I die cut and shaped the flower, I sponged a little Baja Blue Chalk Ink on the back to blend it with the image better.

The Aquarium card stock is die cut with the Timeless Rectangles Die which I thought was pretty with the image and colors. The teal button is repurposed from my stash of extra buttons I get with new clothes...I have been saving all of them for years and finally started using them last year. One of these days I'll be needing an extra button missing from my clothes and realize it has been already repurposed!

Be sure to visit the HC Blog to see what the designers have created for you this week! What a talented bunch of ladies they are! Also, Emma Lou has a new technique video for you showing you her tips when working with vellum!

I'm submitting this to the following challenge:

Peacock Paisley Release - Heartfelt Creations

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for the release of the Peacock Paisley Collection!

Brighten your world with the sparkling colors and mesmerizing motifs of Peacock Paisley, the exquisite spring release from Heartfelt Creations. This lush collection sparkles with jewel tones of topaz, sapphire, amber, emerald and turquoise. The artistic flair of exotic peacocks, intricate paisleys, frilled feathers and delightful daisies will captivate your imagination and energize your creativity. Six sumptuous sets of intricately designed, deeply etched red rubber stamps are the perfect companions to a vibrant paper collection that is overflowing with card fronts, cut apart pages, vivid artwork, pre-designed layouts and beautifully layered backgrounds. The Delightful Daisy Die cuts 7 perfect floral layers with one pass through your cutting system. Whether you want to preserve life's most beautiful moments, create with mixed media techniques or design keepsake cards, you'll be proud as a peacock to present the sophisticated elegance of Peacock Paisley.

For my project I used the beautiful Daisy Flourish Set.

I colored the image with a combination of Prismacolor and Polychromo Pencils using mineral spirits, then matted it with yellow-orange and dark blue card stock. I stamped a sentiment directly on the card base using the Classic Message Set and added a fiber bow and some pearls. Kind of a clean and simple design.

The HC Blog is bursting with creativity today! Be sure to check out all the gorgeous creations from the designers this week! Emma Lou also has a new technique video showing you how she made her card using an emboss resist technique.

Life is Beautiful - Heartfelt Creations

Hi there!

Normally I post on Wednesday for Heartfelt Creations, but this week we're a day early!

For my project this week, I used the Botanical Rose Bouquet Set for the main image that I colored with pencils and mineral spirits. I love this lavender and aqua color combination! I colored it to match the "frame" made with the Butterfly Medley Designer Papers.

The butterflies are from the Butterfly Medley Set that I colored using the same color combination as the main image. I love how this set has one image with 7 different butterflies on it and a matching die that cuts them all at once! Just brilliant!

The sentiment ticket is from the designer paper that I cut with the Luggage & Tag Die. I was also lucky enough to find just the right color seam binding and button to match in my stash of goodies to finish this. (That shouldn't be surprising as I have a LOT of goodies in my stash to choose from!)

Be sure to visit the HC Blog to see all the beautiful creations by the designers this week! Emma Lou also has a GORGEOUS sneak peek of the Peacock Paisley Collection being released next week!

I'm submitting this to the following challenges:
